Hongkong is in a constant state of flux. The city has grown very fast in a rather short period of time. They raised up huge areas of new grounds, they straightened rivers and building structures are rapidly growing skywards. Hongkong‘s Skyline is completly placed on elevated ground. Since the sixties a lot of satellite towns have been founded in close proximity to the metropolis: the New Towns in the New Territories, nowadays very popular by the growing middle class. Today, Hongkong is one of the most densely populated cities in the world.

There are many signs and structures in Hongkong, which exhibit how people feel and live in this city. Some are helpful for orientation or refer to the infrastructure, like streets, crossings and traffic signs. Others require more of an associative point of view.
